Have 3000 Sq. Ft. or More? Build a Senior Vitality Centre With Punha Katta
India's senior population will reach 346 million by 2050. Local community spaces designed for vitality, gappa, movement, and belonging may be one of the best businesses of the decade.
Across India's cities, older adults are increasingly active, increasingly connected, and increasingly underserved by their immediate neighbourhood. They want to move, to meet people, to learn, to create, and to belong somewhere that is built for them. Right now, most neighbourhoods offer very little of that.
Punha Katta is Aaroha Om's answer to that gap: a membership-led senior vitality centre for neighbourhood spaces of 3000 square feet or more.
What happens inside a Punha Katta
A Punha Katta is not a daycare centre. It is not a clinic. It is a place where older adults want to be. The programming covers movement and balance sessions, yoga and breathwork, hearing and communication workshops, cognitive engagement, creative expression through music, art, and storytelling, nutrition and lifestyle learning, community clubs, games, books, tea, and the kind of regular conversations that make a person feel known.
Some places become part of people's routines. Punha Katta is designed to become part of people's lives.
The business model
Punha Katta works on a membership basis, with additional revenue from paid events, collaborator-led sessions, wellness partnerships, family programs, and CSR-supported initiatives. The business is designed to be community-sustaining and financially sound.
Partners can operate under a Partner-Run structure, where they own and run the centre with Aaroha Om's brand, curriculum, and operating support. Or they can use an Aaroha Om-Run structure, where Aaroha Om manages operations while the partner owns or invests in the space.
Who this is for
Punha Katta is built for partners who have access to a good space in a neighbourhood with a strong senior population, who understand the value of community-led business, and who want to build something that matters. If you have 3000 square feet and a belief that older adults deserve better than what most neighbourhoods currently offer, the conversation starts here.
